Morula Kids Art Competition 2005 - Announcing the Winners

The Morula Kids Art Competition is one of various Environmental Education programmes offered by South African National Parks (SANParks), to increase the level of environmental awareness amongst the South African public broadly, and more specifically, learners.

This national competition focuses on learners at the General Education and Training Level (GET), particularly those currently in the Foundation and Intermediate Phases. It encourages both learners and educators to use their creative skills in the form of art, sculptors, and essays to respond to challenges facing conservation and sustainable use of natural resources within protected areas especially national parks.

The project has been a success because of various partners who were drawn into the project. There has been great support from the media especially SABC-TV education; our various national parks through their dedicated People and Conservation officers, individuals; a network of schools; environmental NGOs; our judges, the honorary rangers for the Pretoria Region; our various SANParks’ departments; the secretariat for the project and our donors.

Below are the winners. We congratulate them on their achievement of:

  • a three-day fun filled trip to a park nearest to them;
  • a Go Wild card
  • a certificate
